Food Lion, an Ahold Delhaize banner, has completed renovations at 20 stores in North and South Carolina that opened about two years ago.

According to an April release sent to Retail Leader, Food Lion plans to hold a celebration at the stores to recognize the renovations on April 19. The revamped stores, which first opened in 2021, gained a new in-store design.  They’ll also have an array of products, according to Food Lion, including grab-and-go meals, organic, gluten-free and plant-based products, and items from Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise private label brand.

“From a brand-new look and feel to more convenient grab-and-go items to make any meal easier, each of these stores has made big changes with our customers in mind,” said Meg Ham, Food Lion President, in a release. “While we have made significant enhancements in these stores since they opened about two years ago, we remain committed to keeping our prices low every day, and also offering great promotion and other opportunities to save. We are excited for our neighbors to experience our low prices and the changes we have made just for them.”

The first 100 shoppers that show up to the stores on April 19 will receive a gift card valued at up to $250, the release said. The stores will give something away to the first 100 customers that arrive at the stores through April 22, according to the release. A Food Lion recreational vehicle will also travel to communities in which stores are located, offering incentives such as gift cards, merchandise and food, the release said.

The Ahold Delhaize banner is based in North Carolina and operates more than 1,100 stores across 10 states, which include Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. It opened a new location in South Boston, Virginia, replacing an existing nearby store, Retail Leader reported. It also opened a new location in Kernersville, North Carolina.
