Movers & Shakers: Kohl’s, Glossier, ThredUp & More Switch Up Leadership

Glossier Nabs Brand VP

Kleo Mack is joining Glossier as vice president of brand, effective April 19. In this role, Kleo will lead the growth and evolution of Glossier’s global brand as the beauty company continues to evolve for the future, overseeing brand marketing, brand strategy, consumer insights and social media teams. Most recently, she served as VP of corporate strategic marketing at L’Oreal, where she drove company-wide marketing strategies in close collaboration with their CMO. Prior to that, she spearheaded IT Cosmetics’ European launch and held various U.S. marketing positions at brands like Tarte Cosmetics and Pureology. 

 

Kohl’s Names New CMO

Kohl’s has named Christie Raymond chief marketing officer, reporting directly to CEO Michelle Gass. Raymond joined Kohl's in 2017 as senior vice president, media and personalization, and was promoted to executive vice president, customer engagement, analytics & insights in June 2020. She has been acting as the interim chief marketing officer since May 2022. Raymond will lead the marketing organization including the retailer’s overall marketing strategy, brand and creative, media, loyalty, customer analytics, corporate communications and philanthropic efforts. She will also drive customer engagement, leverage Kohl’s leadership in loyalty, accelerate customer traffic, scale Kohl’s Media Network and continue to build the Kohl's brand.

 

Ahold Delhaize’s Adds Chief Sustainability Officer

Ahold Delhaize has appointed Jan Ernst de Groot as its chief sustainability officer. In this newly created role, de Groot will be accountable for the success of Ahold Delhaize’s integral vision, strategy and goals in regard to environmental sustainability, healthy eating, social impact, ethics, human rights and governance. De Groot brings to his new role a track record of spearheading transformative sustainability programs at companies, and supervisory roles at NGOs and civil society organizations. In addition to taking on this position, he will retain his other, separate duties as Ahold Delhaize’s chief legal officer, an executive committee role he has held since 2016.

Noelle Sadler

ThredUp Fills Vacant CMO Role

ThredUp has nabbed Noelle Sadler to join the company as its chief marketing officer. As ThredUp continues to sharpen its focus on garnering support from younger generations of consumers, Sadler will apply her expertise in e-commerce marketing and merchandising to secondhand. She is the company's first dedicated CMO in nearly five years and will report to ThredUp president Anthony Marino, who previously oversaw marketing. Sadler joins ThredUp from online fashion retailer Lulus, where she most recently served as CMO. Previously, she held several marketing leadership roles at Mac Cosmetics and co-founded Retold Recycling, a subscription-based clothing clean-out service. 

 

Hy-Vee Adds Co-CEO

Hy-Vee will operate with two CEOs, each overseeing different areas of the business. Jeremy Gosch, who has been responsible for retail operations as president and chief operational officer since December 2021, as CEO and president of retail operations as well as vice chairman of Hy-Vee’s board of directors. Gosch will lead alongside Aaron Wiese, who will serve as CEO and president of Hy-Vee’s subsidiaries and supply chain as well as vice chairman of Hy-Vee’s board of directors. Gosch and Wiese’s new leadership roles will go into effect on Oct. 1.
