Aldi launches 30-minute delivery with Instacart
“Through ALDI Express, we're making shopping more convenient so you can satisfy a craving or get a missing ingredient in minutes," said Scott Patton, vice presidentof national buying at Aldi, in the release. "Together with Instacart, we'll continue to find ways to innovate and make the online grocery experience even more effortless and accessible."
As Retail Leader reported, Aldi has been in the midst of a massive U.S. expansion, planning to open 120 new stores in the U.S. this year. In the first quarter of 2023, Aldi opened 35 new stores, and it plans to have more than 2,400 U.S. stores by the end of the year. The grocer has resonated with consumers looking for value in grocery amid inflation in the category and other economic hardships.
Aldi doesn’t offer coupons or have a loyalty program, instead promising shoppers everyday low prices and a wide assortment of private-label products, which have become increasingly popular with shoppers. Aldi ranked 12th on Dunhumby’s annual “Retailer Preference Index,” which found that consumers’ top grocers included H-E-B, Amazon, Costco, Wegmans and Sam’s Club.
